In memory of Jergen Westrheim

We’ve lost a friend and the scientific community has long one its one of its finest practitioners. Our condolesents to his family.

Jergen Westrheim

WESTRHEIM, S.J. (Jergen) Passed away on November 1, 2012. He was
predeceased by his wife Margo in December 2011 and by one nephew John.
He is survived by his daughters: Signe and Karen and her husband Bob.
Grandchildren: Lisa, Monica, Karl, Sigurd, Karmen and
greatgrandchildren: Emily, Hailey , Naomi and Kai. Jergen came to Canada
in 1962 to work for the Pacific Biological Station as a fisheries
research scientist, retiring in 1986. He continued to work on scientific
papers on a voluntary basis until the summer of 2012. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2p.m. at Telford’s Funeral Home, 595 Townsite Road, Nanaimo. Officiant Reverend Mas Iwasawa. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those so desiring,donations in memory of Jergen may be made to a charity of your choice.
