I’m a historian of science, which means I am interested in how scientific facts become facts. I am interested in how fisheries science was done, by who, and who or what agency paid for it (we call this patronage). Scientists are discussed in this blog’s posts, which I consider one of our more random endeavors.

My special favorite here is my post about Bell Shimada, with my visit with Dr. George Yost Harry running a close second. And not to be missed are Bob’s posts about his mentor, Dayton Lee Alverson, and Donald Gunderson’s post on the work of Jergen Westrheim.
